Happy Monday!
I am so happy to have sunshine here, spring has finally arrived and it's lovely!
This weekend I had clients fly out from another state to view the Monterey Bay as we are doing their wedding here, we just needed to find the perfect venue. Unfortunately, we have been having some sever mudslides so we couldn't get to the venue we truly wanted to see (and almost rented a helicopter to get there). We did have a great time viewing all kinds of gorgeous private estates and homes, but it got me thinking about people who may not be using a planner (silly people).
How can they find a great place to host a wedding outside of your standard hotel and parks? I am sure Reese Witherspoon can tell you that without a planner, doing a wedding at a private estate is not an easy task. Everything has to be brought in, you have to consider transportation, parking, bathrooms, music restrictions, etc... When dealing with the private home owners or the property manager, they may promised that you can do things a certain way but down the road, it just may not be the case. When Heidi and I are looking for the couple's perfect venue we almost always pick up our copy of Here Comes The Guide to see if there are any venues that fit the clients specific requests.
What we love about Here Comes the Guide is how hard it is to get in the book. We know that any of the properties listed in Here Comes The Guide have been screened and have jumped through rigorous hoops to get their property listed in the book. Each property has lots of pictures and most have virtual tours on the website. Using Here Comes the Guide, it a great way to find a perfect venue, ensuring that you will be dealing with a professional property, that has guidelines and have done other events previously. It's a great place to start!
PS. You can find lots of wonderful, pre-screened vendors in Here Comes the Guide as well. If you are considering getting married at a private estate, we suggested you hire these awesome planners to help your day go as smooth as silk! ;-)
